Strong Acid - Weak Base

• pH at equivalence point is < 7

• 0.100 M HCl + 0.100 M NH3 gives pH = 5.27

• Phenolphthalein doesn’t work for this titration.

• Want an indicator that changes color in the range of pH 3-7

• Methyl red is a good choice.
