17.4 Solubility Equilibria
Some combinations of ions in solution form insoluble salts. Recall the solubility rules from Chapter 4.
Even insoluble salts dissolve to a small extent.
Solubility of insoluble salts is characterized by the solubility product constant, Ksp.
AgCl(s) ? Ag+(aq) + Cl-(aq)
Ksp = [Ag+][Cl-] = 1.70 x 10-10
