Welcome to the Robert Lab, otherwise known as the Wicked Problems Lab. My research efforts in bioethics and the philosophy of biology address the conceptual problems of understanding organismal development in its various manifestations, whether in sickness or in health, and assessing societal and ethical dimensions of interventions to prevent or mitigate its worst manifestations. Along with a group of wonderfully interdisciplinary colleagues, I think about genes and stem cells and brains and bodies and populations and social systems, within the framework of what I call systems bioethics (Robert 2007b). Currently, my research is focused on behavioral and brain science.
