People - Mary Sunderland

Mary is currently pursuing a PhD in the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University. She is broadly interested in bioethics, developmental biology and science policy. More specifically, her current research interests include experimental therapies for neurodegenerative diseases and regenerative medicine model systems. Mary received her HBSc (2001) from the University of Toronto, with a double major in zoology and philosophy, and her MSc (2003) from the University of Toronto, where she studied the genetic regulation of retinal stem cells. She loves to travel and since moving to Arizona has made frequent trips to the Grand Canyon (where she stands on the left in the above photograph).
