DIGGER'S JOURNAL: 1998
(17th -century English radical cooperative
movement, who occupied the common land on St. George's hill, Surrey, and
began to cultivate it. They claimed land should be given to the poor and
held in common.)
Although our aims and problems
are different today, in keeping with
the original digger's philosphy
of hands on action, the modern day diggers discuss current environmental
issues such as air
and water
quality,
land use planning,
endangered species, and the
care of the planet to inspire people to take action to improve the quality
of life on our planet.
