About the Author

My name is Haylye White. I am a single, white female (feel the suspense?),just completing my freshman year at Arizona State University. I am from a middle class family, earning too much to receive money from the government or the school. Yet not earning enough to pay for tuition and the cost of living. What about scholarships, you ask? I tried out for the cheerleading squad in eighth grade, didn't make it, and my confidence was permanently crushed. In the ninth grade, on the first day of track practice, I went over the hurdle and twisted my knee. It hasn't been the same since. So sports are out of the question. In high school, I turned my attention to drama, but was never good enough to get a lead part, let alone a scholarship. I finally decided on a major, pre-nursing. I also found out that I still have four and a half more years of school ahead of me. Needless to say, I have a LOT more tution to pay, so this topic has become somewhat important to me lately. I know tuition won't be going down in my (college) lifetime. That's okay, though, I am looking forward to paying off loans for a long time after I graduate. It will be fun.
