About the Author
Hi everyone, my name is Shannon Brown, and I am a freshman at Arizona State University. My favorite pastime is to watch sports, whether it's on T.V. or in person. I love to get into a game. I myself never participated in any after school activities, and I was a pretty good kid, but my sister is a miss all American athlete. Being involved in sports has kept her clean. Many of her best friends have begun to go down hill, and as soon as they did, my sister split. She didn't want to mess up her athletic abilities by making the wrong decision. My sister is definitely the reason why I feel so strongly about keeping involved in after school activities to stay busy. I am very proud of her and think she is a great example for children. I am really worried about our future, I want our children to live in a wonderful, well working economy. I feel that there is much we could be doing to protect our children. We just need to learn how. I want to wish all parents raising teens good luck, and try to do all that you can to keep them out of trouble.
