English 216: Assignment #4

One of the options for Assignment #3 is to present your "paper" as a webpage. This is not to say that you are to develop a webpage focused on the issue you've been investigating, but rather that you may choose to present your work for paper 3 in a different medium. What follows are some instructions for developing a webpage using Netscape Composer. These instructions are far from complete and are intended to serve as a compliment to our class demonstration and workshop. For a more detailed explanation, see Dr. Tim Ray's Netscape Composer Instructions.

Step One: Getting a WWW account
If you have yet to request a www space, you may do so by accessing ASU's Jukebox site.

Step Two: Creating your index.html page

Open Netscape and click on the "Communicator" Menu.
Select "Composer." A blank page will appear.
This is where you will "build" your page.

Step Three: Saving your index.html page

Go to the "File" Menu and select"Save As"
Go to Desktop and click on the "m" drive
Create or open the folder entitled www
Save the blank page as index.html

Step Four: Building the Page

Once you've saved this page as index.html, you may begin importing graphics and text or inserting text you have written in word or some other word processing program.
Be sure to save your work as you go--making certain that you are saving the file as index.html and that you are saving it to your www space.
