Advanced interdisciplinary course in the design and critique of documents (writing the content and controlling the graphic appearance of documents), the integration of visual and textual elements, and the selection of typographic and other graphical elements for a variety of rhetorical situations. Students analyze and evaluate documents for text and graphical effectiveness. This course is taught in a computer-based classroom using a variety of graphic design and desktop publishing software, including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker, Indesign, Framemaker; Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash; and MS Word.
