This page is terribly
disorganized; one of these days I'll clean it up. For now, it's a miscellaneous
group of writing resources I've been collecting for the past few years. Most
links are current. If you find a dead one, please let
me know. As a matter of policy, I don't like to include links to commercial
enterprises, but there are a few here.

Grammar
and Style. --Jack Lynch, Assistant Professor
in the English department of the
Newark campus of Rutgers University, writes, "these notes are a miscellany
of grammatical rules and
explanations, comments on style, and suggestions on usage I put together for
myclasses."

Rules of Writing-- This commercial site is
a concise guide to some of the most commonly
violated rules of writing, grammar, and punctuation. It is intended for all
writers as an aid in the
learning and refining of writing skills. Provided by Junket Studies Tutoring

Hartford, CT. A good systematic overview of grammar and writing, with links
to other resources.

put on-line by Anthony Hughes, currently the

Network Ltd., and is
available free of charge for anyone to use.

Strunk,
The Elements
of Style (1918 edition)--According to Mr.
Strunk, "This book is intended for use
in English courses in which the practice of composition is combined with
the study of literature.
It aims to give in brief space the principal requirements of plain English
style. It aims
to lighten the task of instructor and student by concentrating attention
(in Chapters II and III) on a
few essentials, the rules of usage and principles of composition most commonly
violated."
