How the West Was Won
How the West Was Won appeared in a number of incarnations: first in 1976 as The Macahans--a 3 hour movie; next in 1977 as How the West was Won and again in 1978-1979 as the television series of the same name. It was the story of a tough pioneer family moving west, trying to escape the ravages of the Civil War .
The final season consisted of 11 2-hour movies, each one a stand-alone. The show had a home in the U.S. on TNT daily, then just Saturdays, then it was gone. Then it was back on TNT on Saturdays 8am ET And gone again.
