Open Letter
Dear People of Phoenix, Arizona:
MY major is Psychology and Sociology and I had to take this class as a requirement. I am the daughter of an immigrant and I thought that I new everything, well I was wrong. The class Migration and Culture focus in a lot of issues about immigrants every where. This class made me understands how important immigrants are to this country. For example the effects they have in our economy. In addition, this course teaches old and new issues about immigration every where.
This class taught me about migration as a patterned process of Globalization of Capitals and culture. In addition, taught me the differences about refuges, immigrants, transnational, migrants, and emigrants. Also, this class made me realized all the anti-Mexican immigration feeling, attitudes and laws existing in this country. In conclusion this class has taught me much new information about immigrant issues.
