Organizations focus is mainly on providing legal assistance to citizens & Immigrants
ILRC is a national expert on a wide range of issues, including:
ILRC works with immigrants and citizens to make critical legal assistance and social services accessible to all, regardless of income, and to build a society that values diversity and respects the dignity and rights of all people.
ILRC is committed to help newcomers develop civic participation and leadership skills. This is accomplished by training community based agencies to develop leadership potential and also educating newcomers of all ages about government and citizenship among other issues.
The organization establishes reports regarding changes in immigration policies or any other legal issues that regard immigration.
The organization publishes twice a year “The Immigrant Advocate” which highlights current issues on immigration policies.
McClatchy Newspaper, Inc. Sacramento Bee August 19, 2004 An article in the Sacramento Bee newspaper mentioned this organization. The article talked about how many organizations started campaigns against deaths in the California and Arizona deserts.
“Officals from El Comite de Padres Unidos and the Immigration Legal Resource Center, both based in San Francisco, said the campaign was spurred by the scores of migrant deaths in the California and Arizona desert.”
