My family object

My family and I migrated from Laos in 1986. Laos is located in Southeast Asia.  Our culture is very similar to Thai.  For those people who are not familiar with the country Laos.  Laotian is not the same as Hmong even though both are from Laos.  Hmong and Laotian totally speak a very different language.  We feel very fortunate that we are here in the United States.  When we left our country we didn’t have very much to bring with us, but my mother was able to hold on to my grandfather’s identification card.  This family object is a very significant part of our past.  It helps to remind us of where we are from.
