Introduction

His name is John Vivanueva.  I first met John about 4 years ago while paintballing at a local paintball arena.  He is a very charismatic person with a real zeal for life.  We got along almost immediately and found we had a connection with each other on the field that made us near unbeatable while playing paintball.  After getting to know him better I learned of his residency status and the struggles he had to go through in order to further his education and gain meaningful employment.

We talked while enjoying cups of coffee in his home.  Our only interruptions were the frequent visits from his eleven month old daughter who would walk into the room from time to time to see if Dad and "Uncle David" were doing anything interesting until his wife would come and corral her back into the living room.

With John's corporate/casual dressing style, good English, and good humored attitude, he could easily pass for an American citizen wherever he goes.  However, after listening to the experiences and difficulties he had to go through while being an undocumented immigrant, I have a greater understanding for his love for life, and the obvious pleasure he receives from relaxing with his family and friends.
