My Family's Migration

I am Native American, indigenous to the land that is now the United States.  My total blood degree is 45/64 which is broken down as Chemehuevi 29/64 and Mohave 1/4.

I spoke with my mother in regards to our family's migration and the only thing she knows is that her family owned land in Yuma, Lake Havasu and in Needles.  She believes that our family would travel back and forth depending on the season, so my family does have a history of migration too.

My family does not believe in keeping objects because of the belief that bad spirits and sickness will some and hurt the family. But my mother did have a picture of her grandmother.

The reservation to which I belong is Colorado River Indian Tribes. We have 4 tribes that are associated: Chemehuevi, Mohave, Navajo, and Hopi.  The reservation is located in the town of Parker, Arizona (Just south of Lake Havasu).
