Flour Sack

From my grandmother's fathers farm!

My family on my father’s side came from Poland. My family came over from Poland in the late 1890’s. They were bakers and had my grandmother’s father had seven farms. He also had his own flour mill. This is a bag from his flour mill. My grandmother had it framed and in the family we only have a few. One thing that my grandmother is really proud of, her grandfather wasn’t making ends meet in the depression of the 30’s and her grandfather gave the one of the farms to one of his workers. He sold five and kept one for himself. My Aunt Helen lives there now in Indiana. My grandma who’s my father’s mother is the source for all of this information. The last name that was that is correlated to this is Benes. I am also related to Andy and Alan Benes who are pitchers in the Major League of baseball.
