Agency

I researched the Center for Immigration Studies.  The Center for Immigration Studies is located in Washington D.C.  The goals of the Center for Immigration Studies are to expand the base of public knowledge and understanding of the need for an immigration policy.  The Center for Immigration Studies is a pro-immigrant agency that is seeking low-immigration to allow a fewer number of immigrants but offering a warmer welcome for those that are admitted into the United States.  The key audience members of the Center for Immigration Studies are policymakers, journalists, and academics.  The Center for Immigration Studies has also taken an initiative to raise the bar of media coverage by giving an annual award, called the Katz Award for Excellence in the Coverage of Immigration, to the journalist who best challenges the norm of immigration reporting.  Last years recipient of the award was Joel Mowbrey of the National Review.  The Center for Immigration Studies also created a database listing employers who knowingly hire and continue to employ unauthorized workers.  The Center for Immigration Studies also has several publications.  The main publication is Backgrounders.  Other publications are announcements, reports, op-eds, and books and magazine articles.  To find out more information on The Center for Immigration go to their web site at www.cis.org.
