I know this sounds trite but this voyage has been an eye opening experience for me. Comfortably cradled in LA surburbia, I had heard of globalization and transnational exchanges through the sterile lenses of academia, heck, I'm a product of transnational migration! -Long story short, I had heard in passing of what the rest of the world constituted of but never actually did anything further than to digest the information given to me.
