This website is dedicated to the exploration of the South Side of Metropolitan Phoenix also known as South Phoenix. The study area took place south of the Salt River and north of the South Mountains. My exploration is made up of mostly fieldwork, notes and interviews with South Phoenix residents.  My group consisted of three other students, to see our group project click here.

Week One

My group and I drove through neighborhoods, focusing on the physical and cultural aspects of the Community. We took pictures of Central Avenue around Broadway and Roeser.

We spend the day volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. Our class was split up into two groups half worked on roofing and the other half worked on landscaping. See my group below

Week Three

Phoenix police officer Snodgrass discussed policing and crime. Read my perspective as a resident of South Phoenix regarding policing and crime.

Week Four

My group and I visited the Travis L. Williams Family Service Center. We received information on social services provided to the residents of South Phoenix. See my  synopsis of these services.
