Exams will be given on the dates in the table below. Plan accordingly. Make sure you have several days to study before each exam. For each exam, you can bring one sheet (8.5 x 11 inch, both sides) of notes or equations.

Exam Tips: Make sure you do and understand all assigned problems and I would also go through the old exam problems and additional problems from the book. Do not try to do all your studying a day or two before the exam. Do a few problems every night for the whole semester. If you had difficulty with one of the problems, get help. My office hours are usually poorly attended until a day or two before exams. Read the book carefully. Make sure you know what all the terms mean. Try to understand, at least conceptually, where the equations come from. Use the on-line exercises in the assignments to help you work through the conceptual material and check your understanding. After you have studied, try the example exam problems and last year's exams. Notice the mix of conceptual and numerical problem solving techniques that are required.
