The I of My Eye

Some people believe it is possible, even desirable, to separate a person from her politics. I don't share this belief. Instead, I believe my origins, my body, and my lived experiences shape my social positions and my politics--and vice versa. Revealing myself here is a process of selection. The selections may show you glimpses of my body, my biases, or my points of view. But they may not. In other words, these are a few lenses through which I may see you, even as you think you may see me. As Anais Nin says, "We see things not as they are, but as we are." Do you see?
