TEACHING MATTERS

When people used to ask me, "What do you wanna be when you grow up?" I always said, "A teacher!" But when I got to college, I realized I could be anything I wanted to be (not just what I'd blurted out as a kid). So I majored in zoology. Then I took chemistry—yikes! I tried changing my major to communications with an emphasis in public relations. But my application for the PR program got misplaced, and while I was waiting around, I took a short story class and realized I loved literature. So then I became a teacher—like I'd always thought. Life is a circle. More deep thoughts: Teaching matters to me. And using technology in my classrooms has made teaching just that much more fun—and challenging!
