I am a critical cultural geographer interested in community building and social activism through artistic practices.  I employ action research and qualitative methods to illuminate, for example, meanings and negotiations of community and place, or audience interpretations and engagements with public art. There is power in representation and spatial practices and spatial form; I explore how authority may be usurped and/or recognized as dispersed through theatrical geographies and creativity in everyday life.
