Emily Charlson
Emily is a Biology undergraduate and has been a member of the Misra Lab since May 2004. Emily works on the biogenesis of outer membrane proteins (OMPs) of E. coli, specifically she is working towards elucidating the role of a novel lipoprotein, YfgL, in the OMP assembly pathway. She recently presented her research at the national/international Molecular Genetics of Bacteria and Phages conference in Madison, Wisconsin and is in the process of submitting a manuscript for publication. Additionally, Emily currently holds a Fellow status in the School of Life Sciences Undergraduate Research (SOLUR) program at ASU. She will graduate in May 2007 and is planning to pursue a duel MD/PhD degree for her post-bachelor’s education.
