John Werner
John is a PhD candidate in the Molecular and Cellular Biology Program in the School of Life Science at Arizona State University. John joined the Misra lab in Fall of 2000. John works with various chaperone and outer membrane assembly components. John specifically studies the unique assembly pathway of the outer membrane protein TolC in Escherichia coli. John uses a combination of classical genetics and biochemistry to study the roles of various periplasmic chaperones on the biogenesis of outer membrane proteins. He has presented his work at several conferences over the years and is currently working on novel genes of the outer membrane believed to be involved in lipid and proteins incorporation.
