StarMax

The StarMax machines offer a number of possible resolution
choices for the video output. Many of these choices are incompatible
with the Multiple Scan 15 Displays.
Resolutions which are known to be incompatible at this time are
any and all choices that use a scan rate above 75Hz, and any resolutions
above 1024x768. If one of these incompatible resolution settings is
chosen, then the display will become unreadable. Pressing return will
cancel the choice, as will waiting longer than the brief timeout period
for confirming the selection.
If you find a monitor connected to a StarMax system, and the
display is flickering violently, follow these steps to rectify the
situation.
  1. 'Zap' the PRAM by holding down the Apple+Option+P+R before the 'Happy Mac' appears. You will hear a second bootup chime, at which point you can stop holding down the keys.
  2. Boot without extensions.
  3. Open the Date & Time Control Panel and set the Time Zone to Phoenix. Then set the time.
  4. Restart the StarMax (This time with the extensions.)
  5. Login
  6. Open the AppleTalk Control Panel and switch from Parallel Port to Ethernet. Check to make sure the Ethernet Zone is correct for the site.
  7. Restart the StarMax
