The two grants below establish the relative locations of the land of
 Erasmus Ford and Samuel Kendall in the 1820s in Jackson County, TN.

 The first shows where Samuel Kendall's land touches John Black's and
 the second shows where Erasmus Fords land touches John Black's. 

 John Black's land was adjacent to Welcome Butler and the location of 
 Welcome Butler's land is well known. Thus we can easily map these

Beginning at a stake in the north boundary line of John Blacks 640
acre survey the South east Corner of Samuel D. Kendalls tract Running
thence South with said Kendalls east boundary line 112 poles for a
Beech and Sugartree on the Bank of said River thence with the meander
of said River East 71 ____ tenth poles to three maples, thence South
112 poles to a Stake in said Blacks north boundary line. Thence West
