The two grants below establish the relative locations of the land of Erasmus Ford and Samuel Kendall in the 1820s in Jackson County, TN. The first shows where Samuel Kendall's land touches John Black's and the second shows where Erasmus Fords land touches John Black's. John Black's land was adjacent to Welcome Butler and the location of Welcome Butler's land is well known. Thus we can easily map these locations.
