[123] Thomas' obituary was files on page 434, Book 12 of the [UL: [UL:
filed in the Humboldt County Library. It reads as follows:
Following an illness of several months from injuries received in
a boiler explosion at the Humboldt County Hospital, Thomas McKenna,
77, passed away Sunday morning. At the time of his injury, he was
employed as an engineer at the hospital and has been under treatment
ever since.
McKenna was well known in Arcata where he resided for a number of
years.
He was a brother of Wm. McKenna, deceased who operated a store in
Arcata for many years under the names of Harpst & McKenna and later
was elected County Clerk of Humboldt Co.
He was a brother of the late Capt. McKenna and the late Mrs. J.
Van Sant SR. Two nephews , J Van Sant and Bert Van Sant and I neice
Mrs. Rudolph Messeile of Eureka survive him.
Funeral services by Pierce Parlero. Rev Leachea of Christs
Episcaopal Church. Burial at Myrtle Grove Cemetery.
