[97] In the [UL: Barlow Family :UL] Jewell Colliver states that Elijah
"was elected State Senator 1903 to 1907 under J. C. Beckman. He
introduced the bill to build the new State Capitol at Frankfort in
1904. When built the Capitol was the second best in the U.S. He was
Warden at Eddyville, Ky State Penitentary (sic) 1907-1911. He
attended school at Bowling Green Normal and was a classmate of Cordell
Hull of Tennessee.
E. P. and his son P. B. Gillenwater were in the Mercantile
business in Glascow 1912 to 1924 as Gillenwater and son."
