Luther's obituary appeared in the Idaho Daily Statesman on April
26, 1945. It reads as follows:
__GILLENWATER - Luther Dee GIllenwater, 84, died Wednesday
afternoon at the family home, 705 Linden avenue. Mr. Gillenwater was
born at Rodgersville, Tenn,. and came to Oregon 40 years ago and
engaged in the livestock business. He moved to Weiser in 1920, and in
1929 he moved to Boise. A member of the First Baptist church of
Boise, he is survived by one granddaughter, Mrs. Ida May Lincoln of
Twin Falls, and two half-brothers, Robert Gillenwater and Brice
Gillenwater of Rodgersville, Tenn. Services will be held Friday at 2
p.m. at the Summers chapel. The Rev. Forrest W. Werts will have
charge. Internment will be at Morris Hill.
