     208. John Harlan (John,5 James 4), farmer, Methodist, b. about the year
  1750 in Frederick, (now in) Washington Co., Md. He m. there about the year
  1770, Jemima Wright, b. there, 1752; a dau. of Elijah Wright (farmer and
  mechanic), b. in Ireland, 1725, and Lucinda Messer, of that county. About the
  year 1782 John Harlan, accompanied by his wife and four children, em. to Lincoln
  Co., Ky., a county that at that time embraced nearly or quite one-third of that now
  great commonwealth. His place of settlement was (after the several subdivisions
  of Lincoln were made) in Mercer Co., where he remained until 1818, when he
  moved into Barren, (now in) Monroe Co., and entered a tract of 200 acres of land
  near the present town of Tompkinsville. Jemima d. there in 1832, and John in
  March, 1835, and both were bur. in the b. g. at Tompkinsville. Issue:

    800. Jacob, b. 12, 25, 1773; d. 8, 19, 1839; m. Sarah Combs.
    801. John, b. 5, 15, 1776; d. 5, 19, 1851; m. Frances Huffman.
    802. William, b. 1778; d. 1845; m.---. (See the seventh generation.)
    803. George Barton, b. 10, 14, 1783; d. 10, 6, i861; m. Mary Ann Kelley.
    804. Thomas, b. 1785; m, Elizabeth Kelley.
    805. Nancy, b. 1785, d. in infancy. (Twin to Thomas ?)
    806. Joel Wright, b. 1793; d. 6, 7, 1839; m. Mary Muikey, 1817
    807. Elijah Wright, b. 1, 22, 1797; d. 5, 17, 1876; m. Margaret M. Hogan, 1818.
    808. Hannah, b. 1800; m. John Hagan; removed to Missouri, and d. there.
         She had: (i) Jemima. (ii) Bennet. (iii) Arthur. (iv) John.
          (v) Elizabeth, m. Daniel Elkins, and at one time were residing at
          Mount Vernon, Mo.
