It appears to me that the early McMillins in Monroe Co were the
children of Daniel. Now Daniel (and the Baileys and Dickens et al)
lived in that part of Cumberland Co that joined with a part of Barren
Co to form Monroe Co in 1820. That is the problem. Many early Barren
Co records (especially marriage, deeds and court orders) exist while
much of the Cumberland material has has been lost. Prior to 1820, you
need to look in Cumberland county.
A number of years ago I messed around with McMillins, Bedfords,
Halsells, Dickens (et al) of early Monroe Co and put together as much
of Daniel McMillin's family as I could. He remarried in 1811 and went
to Indiana. However he is found living as a widower in Cumberland Co
in 1810 and he has the following hosehold members (I presume all are
his children):
1 boy 0-9 2 girls 10-15
1 boy 10-15 1 girl 16-25
2 boys 16-25
In the children I have found for Daniel, you can account for
all of the above except the boy 10-15 and the two girls 10-15.
Thus the following is probably a reasonably accurate representation
of the children of Daniel and his first wife:

I would like to know just what the relationship is between Ephraim
Dicken and the Baileys and McMillins. In 1810 old William Bailey was
listed next to Epraim Dicken in the Cumberland Co census with Daniel
and James McMillin each listed nearby. In 1820 Grace McMillin is
listed next to Epraim and old William Bailey is nearby (Monroe Co
census). All I know is that Archibald and John W McMillin married
daughters of Epraim.
I tend to think that when Daniel McMillin married Jane Sconce and
went to Indiana, the children from the first marriage stayed in Monroe
(Cumberland) County. Patrick Keenan was an unmarried adult and perhaps
he stayed on at the old McMillin homestead with the younger children.
Perhaps the Dickens family looked after them.
Let me get to Grace McMillin. The 1820 census entry reads:
100010 10010
Thus we have: boy and girl age 0-9
one man age 26-44
one woman age 26-44 (Grace).
All I can do is make conjectures. If (Patrick) Keenan McMillin
was head of the household when Daniel left, then when Keenan went
to Tennessee (c 1818) someone else would be head of household. Thus
Grace might be that person and is either female1 or female2 in the
family list above. This would put her at the lower end of the age
range. The adult male could be the unknow male (b 1894-1800) in the
family listing (Edward Keenan?).
Here is a possibility for the male (26-44). Grace could have taken
over as head when Patrick Keenan left. William Bailey (Jr) could have
moved in (maybe as hired hand or common law husband) and perhaps
fathered the two children.
When I check the 1820-1830 Monroe Co tax lists, Grace McMillin is
not listed. William Bailey, Jr, is listed starting in 1921.
There are all kinds of possibilities. But I would work under the
assumption that Grace was at the young end of the range and that she
is the one who married William.
I am interested in the number of times that you have seen the name
Grace MaMillin (or just Grace) as the wife of William Bailey. Was it
just the one time on the death certificate?
I quite possibly have not said anything that you don't already know.
I think that I would need to dig around a lot in order to find something
explicit and concrete. The tax lists often turn up little gems of data.
