It is unclear if William Sr. was the father or grandfather of Richard Moore. A good case could be argued either way. In any event it appears from the Census Records that either William Sr. was his father, or the Mary Moore listed in 1800 was someone other than the widow of William. It is possible that William Jr. moved away as he is no longer found on the census. 1. William Jr. - maybe 2. Richard Moore b 4 June 1775 - d 27 July 1844 md Jan 1806 to to Susannah Tull b 18 Dec 1779 - d 20 March 1845 - daughter of Charles Tull - proved by Tull records found in the Loveit Hines collection a. Ephraim Moore and possible children 1. Ephraim - Lived between Loosing Swamp and Briary, Dobbs Co. 2. 1769 Dobbs Tax list with son Zachariah 3. Zachariah on no further Tax List or voting list, but one on an 1800 Census of Lenoir County aged 26 - would this be a different generation 4. 1780 Tax List - Ephraim, Amaziah, Azariah 5. Voting List 1788 - Azariah, Azaziel 6. Greene County 1800 Census - Ephraim - probably a Jr. 7. 1790 Dobbs Census over 16 under 16 Females Ephraim l 0 0 lived in Contennea Neck Isaiah l 5 3 Emphrain l 0 2 Amaziah l 3 2 My guess would be that Ephraim Sr was the father of Zachariah, Isaiah, Emphrain, Jr. and Amaziah - liked those Bible names - if we assume a person to be 16 when listed on the tax list then Zachariah would have been born by 1753 making his father born by 1730; however the Zachariah on the 1800 Census was born no earlier than 1774. Also Amaziah and Azariah would have been born by 1759 to be on the 1780 Tax List. It thus appears we have three generations. Ephraim Jr. probably married Sheany Scott daughter of Andrew Scott Will of Andrew Scott of Wayne County - left to his daughter Shany Moor and son in law Ephraim Moore of Greene County - 1812 B. Augustine Moore on Tax List, Craven Co. l. sons William and James 2. 1779 Tax List - James and William of Craven Co 3. 1769 Craven - James 4. 1789 - Dobbs Tax list - William and William Jr. - can't tell if these are Augustine's line or another William; however they are listed next to other people known to have lived in Eagle Swamp area 5. 1788 Dobbs Voters list - William Jr. and Sr. - Probably mine as Augustine's group appears to now register in Craven County 6. Augustine was in War of 1812 and on Census in 1820 in Lenoir this would be a later Augustine but probably of the same line 7. lived on Eagle Swamp - Deeds in Craven County 8. 2 sons proven - James and William - both married an Elizabeth at least one had a son James and a son William - there was also a later Augustine James and Mary Moore moved to Madison Co., TN about 1832. I haven't been able to do much research on them in NC. There was a family history written on the family here in TN that said they came from the Kinston, NC area. The Needham Moore of those Bible records is my grt grt grandfather. I can't wait to hear what you come up with after studying the records. Andrea C. Anthony Moore - b by 1700 l. Of Craven County - on the 1769 Craven Co Tax List - records to prove his son was Brittain 2. Brittain - 1769, 1779, 1780 Tax List possible wife was Didgemira and he probably had a son Brittain 3. May have lived closer to Augustine than to Briery 4. John, Stephen, William and Anthony lived on Broad Creek and Alligator Gut in Craven 5. Anthony had a Will in 1788 - son Brittain, brother Jesse Fulsher -other children not named other than Brittain 6. Anthony got land in Craven by 1723 - it is possible there was two generations of Anthony 7. John of Broad Creek was also b by 1730 D. Miscellaneous 1. Thomas Moore - 1788 Dobbs Voters List also on 1790 Census on Loosing Swamp with l male over 16 1 under 16 and 4 females 2. Simon had a Will in 1816 in Craven - son John bc 1770 - died before father, - children Simon, Hardy, Abner, Selah, Polly - Hardy appears to have moved to Lenoir county 10. probably two Johns - one of Craven and one of Dobbs F.
