In addition to serving as a teaching assistant/course builder for graduate level classes, he also provided assistance in the production of the School of Education's self-study for the Academic Program Review, which was an evaluation of the School's academic programs over a five year period.

Dr. Öztürk has been an active member of a number of professional societies such as The American Evaluation Association (AEA) and The American Educational Research Association (AERA).
