Our research focuses on the study of emotion and on the cultural and biological forces that shape emotional responses. Through an interdisciplinary, multi-method approach that incorporates physiological, behavioral, and neuropsychological measures, our research addresses how life stress (ranging from job stress to sleep deprivation to traumatic life events) disrupts emotional processing for individuals and in the context of couple relationships. We also investigate neural correlates of emotional dysfunction and treatments to promote positive physical and mental health outcomes. |
