Tests: There will be a total of three intermediate tests worth 100 points each and the final. The final exam is worth 150 points.
Homework: HW assignments will be put on the board at the end of each class period. The daily HW will be collected weekly. The grader will grade only five randomly selected assignments. Homework collected during a week is worth 2 points, if you did all the assignments selected for grading.

Grading: Your grade will be determined by your exams (300), the final (150), homework and your work in class. Course attendance and active participation in the class work are strongly advised. By this way you can secure your grade earning extra points. Up to 50 (or even more) points can be earned in class.

Grades will be based on the number of points earned:

A-90%-100%,   B-80%-89%,   C-70%-79% ,   D-60%-69%,   E-0-59%.

The final grade is derived in accordance with the following formula

Final_grade = 2*(Number_of_points_for_tests + 5*Number_of_successful_works_in_class + Number_of_points_for_HW)/9

The following syllabus is supposed to give a rough orientation. The exact date of every exam will be announced in time.
