Nearly 25 years ago, the Bureau of Land Management Arizona Strip District and the Kaibab National Forest sponsored the preparation of Man, Models and Management: An Overview of the Archaeology of the Arizona Strip and the Management of Its Cultural Resources. Where does the state of archaeological research now stand on the Arizona Strip and adjacent areas of Utah and Nevada? What has the archaeological community learned over the past 25 years? What new research directions are we poised to pursue in the future? The Kaibab-Vermilion Cliffs Heritage Alliance has organized this symposium to bring together archaeologists working in the region to share data and address these questions.
