Fluent in English, German, and French, Ambassador Ducaru, a career diplomat, brings to his current position an impressive background in diplomacy and expertise in international political exchanges at the highest levels. As former Head of Romania's NATO Division, Ambassador Ducaru played a key role in spearheading and promoting Romania 's national security interests, and was a member of his country's team that worked on NATO and EU integration.
Ambassador Ducaru holds an engineering degree in Electronics, an M.S. degree in Applied Electronics from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, and a PhD in International Economics from the Bucharest Academy of Economics Studies. He also completed with highest academic distinctions post graduate studies at the Romanian National School of Political Science and Public Administration and at the Amsterdam School of International Relations from the University of Amsterdam .
