PURPOSE

The DigitalMicrograph Scripting Users Group (DMSUG) is an independent association of users of the DigitalMicrograph software package (Gatan Inc.) and associated hardware. The DMSUG List Server is a private e-mail list server that provides a forum for sharing our knowledge, experience, and problems using the DigitalMicrograph software package and scripting language.

Although several employees of Gatan Inc. are members of this list the DigitalMicrograph Scripting Users Group is an independent and private entity totally separate from Gatan, Inc.

USAGE INSTRUCTIONS

To subscribe to the DMSUG List Server send the following text

subscribe dmsug Your F. Name
end

in the body of an e-mail message to the address, listserv@asu.edu, replacing "Your F. Name" with your actual name. The LISTSERV software will determine your e-mail address from the "Reply To" field of your message. Your subscription will then be processed by the list administrator.

You will be sent a separate e-mail message with complete instructions on how to use the LISTSERV software.

To send a message to be distributed to the members of the list send the message to dmsug@asu.edu. You must subscribe to the list before you can send messages to it.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL

The list management software for this list will require you to renew your membership every 6 MONTHS. The renewal process is automated and you will have 32 DAYS to renew your membership before you will be automatically deleted. In the event that you are inadvertently deleted while on vacation you can contact the list administrator at DMSUG-request@LISTS.ASU.EDU to resolve the problem.

To avoid unwanted postings, advertising and "spamming" this list is a closed list. Only members of this list may post messages to the list.

The membership of this list is only available to the list administrator.

All subscription requests to the list are forwarded to the list administrator and will only be processed after successful completion of the list membership questionnaire. The purpose of the questionnaire is to ensure that members are from an appropriate institution, to weed out potential advertisers and to aid in managing the list.

The list administrator will not divulge the membership list, e-mail addresses or questionnaire information for this list to any third party.

Please use useful, descriptive subjects in your postings.

Users who post unwanted or inappropriate message will be promptly removed from the list.
