Journal Entries
Read each piece of writing, and as you read, make notes and write responses to what you are reading. Look for patterns in your writing, any changes in approach and style, any comments or attitudes that surprise you or that you feel differently about now that you look back. Also note anything that doesn’t surprise you and why. Look at the various decisions you made in the various types of writings, and consider why and how you made these decisions, and what they were based on. Look at responses to your writing from workshops and to final drafts. How have these responses contributed to how you are approaching the report assignments and thinking about your writing? How do you think your own responses to others are contributing to their work and to yours?
When you have finished your research, consider what the writing components reveal to you about your approaches to writing. Write a 2-to-3-page (double-space, typed or computer-printed) critical analysis of your discoveries and conclusions concerning writing as culture, writing for a sustainable society, as well as any questions or concerns you have about your own processes of researching, studying, and writing about your investigations.
Remember that the assignment is to analyze and discuss your own writing, not to evaluate it or the course.
