Call for Proposals


Theme: Rhetoric and Literacy on the Border

Keynote Speaker: Elizabeth Losh
Author of The War on Learning: Gaining Ground in the Digital University
and Understanding Rhetoric: A Graphic Guide to Writing

October 21-22, 2016

We welcome proposals for individual presentations, panels, and roundtables. Proposals related to the theme will be given priority.

Please submit the following information in a Word document to propose a session or presentation: contact name, contact e-mail, participants’ names, institutions of all participants, e-mail addresses of all participants, type of presentation (individual, panel, roundtable, etc.), presentation title, and presentation description.

Separately, submit a Word document prepared for blind review (maximum 500 words) that describes the proposed session/presentations and identifies the format for the presentation (individual, panel, or roundtable). Individual presentations (20 minutes) will be combined with similar proposals to form 90-minute panels. Panel proposals (90 minutes) are limited to three speakers. Roundtable proposals (also 90 minutes) are limited to four speakers.

Please submit only one submission per person. The Western States Rhetoric and Literacy Conference has a no multiple submissions policy.
