Paul Kei Matsuda is Associate Professor of English at Arizona State University, where he works closely with students in the Ph.D. Program in Rhetoric, Composition and Linguistics, master's programs in TESOL and Linguistics, and undergraduate programs in Linguistics. He also teaches in the brand new Ph.D. Program in Applied Linguistics.

Paul is founding chair of the Symposium on Second Language Writing and the CCCC Committee on Second Language Writing, and has served as the Chair of the Nonnative English Speakers in TESOL Caucus. He has edited numerous books and special journal issues on second language writing. He is also the series editor of Parlor Press Series on Second Language Writing.

During Summer 2007, he was an International Visiting Researcher at the Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University, where he taught a graduate seminar on postmodern qualitative research and second language writing research.
