| RoboCon Robotics competition
[Back]
This was my undergraduate final project. I was
in Tsinghua RoboCon team in 2006.
The theme of RoboCon 2006 was building twin towers using a group of autonomous
and human controlled mobile manipulators in a predetermined environment. This was my first experience on design
and building real robots and operating them. The manual robot had a differential
driven mobile base and a grab-lift mechanism to get the building blocks and put
them to the goal. The autonomous robots were
navigated by the white lines on the ground based on the sensor reading. There
were three autonomous robot. One was running freely while the other two are in
'mother-child' combination. The mother robot was like a carrier who transport
the child robot, which was taking three building blocks, to the desired position
and release a bridge on which the child robot could run to overcome a large gap.
The mother robot also had pneumatic rod to block opponent robots.
I'm also the operator of the manual robot, and
here's the video. ^_^
