Consulting & Service
Two things I seek to achieve with my scholarship are to: (i) have a level of "real-world" impact and transfer of knowledge and (ii) increase the awareness of issues and research associated with perception-action/human factors. Meeting these goals requires establishing connections with local community groups, schools, government agencies, and businesses. I have and will continue to participate in a variety of paid and voluntary professional services including:
Research consulting
Guest lectures
Peer reviewing
Writing

Research consulting
My consulting engagements have primarily focused on designing and conducting research studies to evaluate and develop new technologies in the fields of driving, aviation and sports. In particular, I use my expertise to design studies that are both fundamentally rigorous and applicable to the real-world. This involves evaluating the product "in context" i.e., while the user is engaged in the behaviors that they will being doing when actually using the product. Some examples include:
"Active" Flight Simulator Development

Writing
Would you like to add some scientific research to an article or marketing materials? As a researcher and teacher, I have extensive experience conducting scientific literature reviews and presenting the information in a clear and understable package. I feel that is very important that the knowledge published in scientific journals and books be diseminated to the general public.
