My day started at the El Morro National Monument, southwest of Grants, NM, east of the Zuni Pueblo (below). I had set up camp there after dark the night before, and I had one of those marvelous camping experiences when you unzip your tent to find that you’d unknowingly camped at a breathtakingly spectacular locale. The dogs had a lovely time in the tent and woke me up very early (5:45am - perfect for the road trip... caught the sun rising over the El Morro bluffs).
