ctrcoo - (re)fit center positions to objects in an image
ctrcoo intab outab image [cntrbox] [redispl] [verbose]
Wrapper around 'imexamine' to (re)fit/refine the center positions to
objects in an image, given a list with initial estimates for those
center positions. The first two columns of the input file should list
estimates for the x- and y- center coordinates, and only these first
two column are considered; any additional columns, containing information
like fluxes or labels, are ignored.
'outab' and 'intab' may be identical, in which case the input file will
be updated (overwritten).
Upon exit of this task, if only one set of input coordinates was given,
task parameters 'xcen' and 'ycen' will define the refined center
position; if more than one set of input coordinates was given, only the
center coordinates for the last set is returned.
If the 'verbose' switch is set, the result(s) are also printed to the
standard output.
1. Return the center of an object that appears very close to the center
of an 800x800 pixel image:
rj> print ("400. 400.", > "NGC1311.coo")
rj> ctrcoo ("NGC1311.coo", "NGC1311.coo", "NGC1311_F814W.fits",
cntrbox=11, redispl+, verbose+)
Guessed center coordinates:
#1 xtry=400.000, ytry=400.000
Recentered coordinates:
#1 xcen=401.150, ycen=400.340
