My full name is Robert Raphael Zaragoza Medrano, a mouth full I know, but thats the way my parents named me. I was born on January 8, 1991 in Boise, Idaho, after which I went to the Philippines, a small country near Japan. I spent the next three years there with my four older siblings and parents. From there I moved to Phoenix, Arizona in Awhatukee. Since then I have gone to Las Lomas, Saint Mary Basha, Centennial Middle school, and finally Mountain Pointe highschool. I was a band geek in high school, I was in marching band all four years and concert band as well. Many memories were made and it helped shape who I am. Now I am at ASU, following the foot steps of my brother, and getting a bachelors degree in the arts. I acctually have had two siblings graduate from ASU my brother, and my sister closest in age to me. My family has done more sometimes than I give them credit for, in certain ways.
One might ask where someone with music background decided to go into a different art, the answer is I like both drawing and music. I chose to enter the school of art as an intermedia major becasue I have done drawing longer than music. No doubt music has changed my life and I also want to become a music composer, but for now drawing will do because I know I can learn faster in this field than music theory. Also my mother and brother affected me, my mother sewed beutiful embroderies and my brother drew. My sisters affected me musically with their instruments, Rhea played guitar, Mika played clarinet, and finally Jackie played oboe and was a percussionist. I myself know a little piano and I am a trombone player, yet this is overshadowed by the fact that my written music sounds better than my playing skills.
Through all of these years I have had many friends, two of which are my oldest and closest, Tyler and Ryan they also helped shape my life, they have had to deal with me and my crazyness since first and fifth grade so kudos to you guys. My friend Eliseo has been in recent years a challanger to face off in certain events, h e helped me push myself in certain areas. My friends Kimie, Liz, and Ashley Jerome as people I could go to, to talk to. They also made alot of times really fun, especially with a few inside jokes. My friend Sam as some one who I can always mess with and make me smile. And recently my new bestfriend here at ASU Mia, who made me think differntly about art. Also my recent group of friends made here at ASU you guys are awesome. Finally, my cousin Jon, who is more like a brother than anything, a twin. Not only is he family he is also one of my best friends, he had to grow up with me which is hell on its own, I'm glad to have him as a Cousin.
My band teacher Mr. Werner he was one of he reason why I joined band, and excellent teacher and a good friend to his students, one of the best teachers around for sure. Mr. Meyer, Mrs. Dorris, Mr. Moon also for being awesome teachers, which made learning fun and enjoyable. Also finally the teacher that taught me how to make this site in which you travel Peter Christenson, who has to be one of the best and outspoken teachers I know.
