Me 101

I joined ASU as a Ph.D. student in Spring of 2009. Since then, I have been working under the supervision of Prof. Huan Liu at the Data Mining and Machine Learning Lab. My research focuses on machine learning and data mining, namely feature selection and dimensionality reduction.
I am working currently on different problems, yet, the main problem is the stability of feature selection algoritms. Selecting similar set of features even with the existence of small amount of perturbation, noise, and variance in the data is essential to increase the confidence of the domain experts of the results and help drawing accurate conclusion. Thus, accurately assessing the stability and identifying the main cause of instability, if any, are two important steps to cure this problem.
Finally, I work closely with Dr. Zheng Zhao at SAS Inc, Dr. Lei Wang from University of Wollongong, Austuralia and Jose Augusto Andrade Filho from ICMC/USP, Sao Carlos, SP, Brazil.

Scholarship

I received a scholarship from King Khalid University in 2006 to study master degree in the USA and another one in 2009 to study Phd and to become a professor there when I finish.
