                          I will highlight my upcoming courses, provide links to syllabi, and provide other

                          useful news or materials on this page. 

 

 

Undergraduate Courses

(Listed in order of frequency -- I teach PGS 101 most often.)

 

PGS 101:  Introduction to Psychology

Our standard introductory course covering a broad sample of psychology. 

Required for all majors, also satisfies distribution requirements

for the University.  I usually teach large sections (≈ 500 students).

 

PSY 324: Memory and Cognition

Our primary upper-division course in Cognitive Psychology, with emphases

on perception, attention, memory, language, and reasoning. 

 

PSY 290: Research Methods

Our required methods course, including both lecture and laboratory sections.

Topics include experimental design, statistics, APA writing, and ethics. 

Required for all majors.

 

PSY 498:  Psychology of Language

Cross-listed course, taken by advanced undergraduate students

and by graduate students.  We cover many topics in psycholinguistics, including history,

speech perception, theories of syntax, reading, and development.

 

 

 

Graduate Courses

 

PSY 535:  Complex Cognitive Processes

Our graduate core course in Cognitive Psychology.

 

PSY 591: Memory

An in-depth seminar on memory.

 

PSY 591: Spoken Language Processing

An in-depth seminar on speech perception, production, and

other aspects of language use.
